We're hiring for our fall session!

Are you a journalist or aspiring reporter in Chicago looking for a unique experience reporting on and engaging with the city's
South and West sides?

Do you know of anyone fitting that description?

If so, you're in the right place. City Bureau has openings in three roles for its 4th reporting cycle. Our 10-week Fall Session (October-December 2016) will provide opportunities for 3 Team Leaders, who will mentor and guide emerging journalists in addition to reporting and producing stories; 6 Reporters, who will be responsible for producing content and supporting reporting teams, and 1 Photographer.

This fall, City Bureau will continue to work with local publications, community groups, civic foundations and youth media organizations to produce investigative, on-the-ground reporting around the city's more pressing issues.

Some background:
We began our first programs in October of 2015 and have since published over 40 stories in local and national media outlets, including the Chicago Reader, the Chicago Reporter, DNAinfo, the Marshall Project and the Guardian US.

You can read more about our work herehere, and here—or explore our site for an archive of our stories, dispatches from our public forums and a running blog on our progress.
