Join us for this hour-long training that will introduce you to local government in Chicago and how to monitor it for the public good.

It’s all happening Tuesday, September 14, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. CST via Zoom––register here to receive access details.

During this training, we’ll review best practices for taking notes during a public meeting and your rights when it comes to open meeting law so feel prepared to join us in holding elected officials accountable.

Upon completion of this training and a brief quiz, a digital badge will be added to your Documenters.org profile indicating you’ve completed it. We strongly recommend this training to anyone interested in applying for Documenters assignments, as public meetings are our most common assignment offering.

NOTE: You must attend at least one Orientation to become eligible for paid Documenters assignments. We will be hosting a Chicago Documenters Orientation immediately before this training, from 5:00-6:00 p.m. CST.

You can see what’s coming up at Chicago Documenters, read original public meeting coverage and see what public meetings are happening at Documenters.org. Sign up or sign in here!
