Join City Bureau for open office sessions every Thursday in October!
Our staff, reporters, editors, Documenters, Civic Reporting fellows and fellowship alumni will be working on news coverage, story ideas and pitches. Journalists with a connection to City Bureau are invited to co-work together, get feedback from an editor on pitches, drafts and reporting strategies, and share a meal.
Do you have an important story Chicagoans need to know? Have you seen something great happening in your neighborhood? Has something happened that will affect the lives of you and your community?
Tell a journalist about it during City Bureau’s Open Office October. Our nonprofit civic journalism lab puts the community first in every story — and that starts with you.
Our reporters and alumni (many of whom are now working in newsrooms like Block Club, South Side Weekly, WBEZ, Invisible Institute, WTTW and the Investigative Project on Race and Equity) want to hear about what’s happening in your life and what stories you think we should be telling.
But this goes both ways: Do you have questions about how Chicago runs? Are you looking for resources in the city? We’ll help you track down information — just let us know what you’re looking for.
Plus, we’ll have free food!
Have any questions? Reach out to ariel@citybureau.org. We’d love to see you there!
